Youth housing in Ørestad – A new beginning

In Ørestad, close to Royal Arena, swimming pool, metro, and the large shopping center Fields, there are 52 youth apartments that offer a modern and convenient lifestyle. Each apartment is equipped with its own bathroom, toilet, a small kitchen, and a French balcony. The sizes range from 38 to 41 square meters for the one-bedroom apartments, while the two-bedroom apartments are 48 square meters. The apartments are designed to meet the needs of young people who want proximity to both the city's vibrant life and green areas.

Kanalgården, of which this building is a part, is a mix of public and private youth housing as well as private family and senior housing. Here you will find common rooms, terraces, and green courtyards that invite social interaction and community. The five older trees that previously stood on the site have been preserved and will become part of the green areas upon the completion of the building. On the ground floor, there is a café and a grocery store that contribute to making the area a lively meeting place for people of all ages.

For those who wish to be part of something special, Kanalgården offers the opportunity to become a 'First Mover'. As a First Mover, you get the chance to influence the design of the housing department and participate in building the community from the start. This includes participating in meetings with other future residents before moving in, where activities and traditions are planned. So if you dream of moving in before everyone else and taking part in shaping the social life, you can sign up as a First Mover. Three meetings will be held in February and March to plan for the future.

It is important to note that the rent for the apartments on the 7th and 8th floors is higher due to the exceptional view, while some apartments have a lower rent as they are located next to common rooms or above the laundry. Additionally, there are specially designed handicap apartments that are suitable for self-sufficient wheelchair users.

Upon moving in, a deposit must be paid, which varies between 26,500 and 33,200 DKK, depending on the size of the apartment, effective from early 2025. However, it is worth noting that the design of the apartments is not suitable for children, reflecting a focus on young residents.
