Housing Options and Facilities at the Dormitory

This property offers various types of housing, including both 1-room and multi-room apartments with varying facilities. For the 1-room apartments, one should expect a waiting time of between 6 and 12 months, while the waiting time for multi-room apartments is typically longer than 12 months.

Hørbrækkerhuset is located in Amager and consists of a total of 43 rental units. Two of these are mini-collectives, each with six rooms sharing a bathroom, toilet, and kitchen. The rooms here have a net area of 12 square meters. Additionally, there are 30 2-room apartments and a single 3-room apartment, all with their own bathroom, toilet, and kitchen.

The dormitory is centrally located in Sundbyvester on Amager, providing easy access to good shopping options. Amagerbrogade and Amager Centret are just a few hundred meters away. With the metro from DR Byen/University station, one can reach Fields in under ten minutes. Right across from the dormitory, you will find both a supermarket and a pizzeria.

The dormitory shares a lovely garden with Hørbrækkerhuset and Hørhus Kollegiet, which are also part of the complex. Here, there are both soccer and tennis courts available. Each apartment has access to a broadband connection.

For students at the University of Copenhagen Amager (KUA) and the IT University (IT-U), it is just a five-minute bike ride to classes. Other students can benefit from using the metro, as the stations DR Byen/University and Amagerbro are close by.

Transport times from the dormitory include approximately 15 minutes by metro to Copenhagen Business School, 20 minutes by bike to the Center for Health and Society at KU, and 20 minutes by bike to the University Park and Panum Institute on Blegdamsvej.

It is important to note that pets are not allowed in the 1-room apartments, but cats and dogs are welcome in the 2- and 3-room apartments. Smoking is prohibited in all indoor areas, including common areas and private rooms in the collective apartments. Children are welcome in the 2- and 3-room apartments.

The apartments are not suitable for individuals with mobility impairments, such as wheelchair users. Housing benefits can be applied for the larger apartments. Water, heating, and electricity are included in the rent, while antenna and internet are paid along with the rent. A deposit equivalent to three months' net rent is required.
