Engagement in BO-90 Housing Community

Being part of the BO-90 housing community requires active participation and a strong commitment from all residents. If you cannot clearly say yes to engaging in the daily community, it may be a good idea to consider another housing option. BO-90 is more than just a place to live; it is a community built on a number of fundamental principles.

The housing community places great emphasis on ecology and environmentally friendly solutions. Residents commit to using sustainable methods both in the construction process and in daily life, including waste sorting, composting, and using environmentally friendly energy sources such as heating, water, and ventilation.

Shared meals are a central part of life in BO-90. Residents take turns cooking about once a month, preparing meals with organic ingredients that cater to the needs of allergy sufferers, children, and vegetarians.

Cleaning of common areas is also a shared task, using environmentally friendly cleaning products. Residents participate in cleaning tasks according to an adopted cleaning plan.

Participation in community meetings is essential for all residents, where they can help shape the future of the housing community. Additionally, it is expected that one participates in at least one working group, which can be of an administrative or practical nature.

Residents of BO-90 also participate in annual workdays and must be prepared to engage in conflict resolution if problems arise that cannot be solved privately.

The practical part of the housing community includes 17 homes built in the years 1992-1993. The homes vary in size and layout, with an emphasis on low energy consumption and environmentally friendly installations such as air solar heating systems and rainwater collection for toilet flushing.

The community's location by a green courtyard, which has a playground and fruit trees, provides a lovely view from the south-facing balconies and walkways. The common room, which is on two levels, has a kitchen and direct access to the garden.

It is allowed to keep up to two cats, but male cats must be neutered. The waiting time to get a home in BO-90 is typically over 12 months, so patience is a necessity for prospective residents.
