Skovlyporten is located a short distance from Søllerød Lake, which is known for its good fishing opportunities. Additionally, it is within cycling distance to both Holte Midtpunkt and the Technical University of Denmark.

Pets are welcome, except in block 2, and must be registered with the inspector. Fighting dogs are not allowed. Residents can apply for housing benefits, and the communal laundry is available to everyone. Heating is billed in advance with an annual settlement, while water is included in the rent. Electricity is paid directly to the supplier, and internet is part of the rent. Upon moving in, a deposit equivalent to three months' net rent is required.
