Farum Midtpunkt - A Well-Established Housing Oasis

Farum Midtpunkt offers a range of modern facilities where you can enjoy your own kitchen, toilet, and bathroom in private. Located in Farum, owned by Furesø Housing Association, this self-owned public housing organization is an attractive option for many. The building was designed by the visionary architects from Fællestegnestuen: Jørn Ole Sørensen, Viggo Møller-Jensen, and Tyge Arnfred, and the first residents moved in in June 1972.

In the early years, Farum Midtpunkt was marked by the economic challenges that came with being a 'high-interest' building. Over the years, however, it has managed to restructure the loans, resulting in a financially robust building that today has long waiting lists. The building consists of 1119 large four-room family apartments of 129 sqm, of which 622 are in two levels with large terraces. Additionally, there are 340 one-bedroom apartments of 54 sqm with a large balcony, as well as two- and three-room apartments located in the West Blocks along Frederiksborgvej. A total of 40 of these apartments are designed to be handicap-friendly.

The management of the building is handled by KAB in close collaboration with the resident democracy, which plays a central role in the property's operation. With 4,100 residents representing various nationalities, Farum Midtpunkt has managed to create a harmonious community without the need for special treatment. All communication takes place in Danish, and no special clubs have been established or resident advisors hired to handle cultural differences.

The income level in the building is slightly below the general level in Farum, which mainly consists of single-family homes. Despite this, residents enjoy the safe and inclusive atmosphere, which means that many rarely move away dissatisfied. There is even a growing trend for the second generation of the original residents to return to start families here.

The location is extremely convenient with only a 36-minute transport time to Copenhagen Central Station and good bus connections to all of North Zealand, making it easy to commute to and from work or study. The waiting time for an apartment in Farum Midtpunkt cannot be estimated, but it is undoubtedly a sought-after place to live.
