Housing Types and Community
The area for each apartment is calculated as gross area, which means it includes square meters for stairs, hallways, and similar facilities. Since the apartments can vary in size and design, indications such as area and advance payment amounts are only indicative. The precise information about a specific apartment will be included in the offer letter you receive.
The residence is a smoke-free zone, which applies to both the apartments and the common areas. This smoking ban also applies to any guests visiting the residents. The rent may vary depending on whether the apartment has a view of the sea or the canal.
The building offers two forms of co-housing: the neighborhood and the co-housing community. In the co-housing communities, residents have both their own tea kitchen and access to a larger communal kitchen and living area. Regardless of which housing form is chosen, all apartments are private.
In the co-housing community, in addition to the private room, residents have access to common areas shared with the other residents in the housing cluster. These common areas include lounges, kitchens, and in many clusters, also a terrace. It is in these areas that the cluster's social life and community can truly flourish.
There are two types of co-housing: a mixed co-housing community with residents from multiple generations and a co-housing community exclusively for youth housing. In the neighborhoods, the area for common rooms is reduced to make room for larger private apartments. In these clusters, there are no shared common areas directly connected to the apartments, but there are common facilities in the building that are open to all residents.
Living in either a neighborhood or a co-housing community places different demands on you as a resident. The community can only thrive if the residents in the cluster are willing to actively participate in the social life.
